What Does a Photo Booth Rental Cost on Long Island in 2026?

An honest look at pricing, what drives it, and the add-ons and fees worth watching for when you compare Nassau County quotes.

Pricing in this industry is frustratingly opaque, and we would rather just explain how it works. Here is what actually drives the number on a Long Island photo booth quote.

The four things that move the price

  1. Run time. The single biggest factor. Most events land between two and five hours of live booth time.
  2. Booth type. A 360° video booth carries a premium over an open-air photo booth because of the equipment and the editing involved.
  3. Date. A Saturday in October costs more than a Thursday in February. Peak season on Long Island is roughly April through June, September through November, and all of December.
  4. Add-ons. Premium backdrops, a second booth, extended galleries, brand activations, and idle time all add to the base.

What should always be included

Be skeptical of any quote where these are line items rather than standard inclusions:

  • Setup and breakdown — you should not pay for the hour before your run time
  • A professional on-site attendant for the entire rental
  • A custom digital overlay designed for your event
  • Unlimited sessions during your run time
  • Instant digital delivery to every guest — text, email, or QR
  • The complete high-resolution gallery delivered to you after the event
  • Props and a standard backdrop
  • Travel within Nassau County

Fees worth asking about directly

Idle time. If your venue requires load-in at 2pm but your booth does not go live until 7pm, most companies charge an idle fee. Ours is $50 per hour. Ask before you sign, because this one surprises people.

Travel. Anywhere in Nassau County we do not charge travel at all. Outside the county, ask for the number in writing.

Overtime. Know the hourly rate to extend on the night, because if the party is going well you will want to.

Design revisions. Some companies limit overlay proofs. Ask how many rounds are included.

How to compare quotes fairly

Normalize everything to a per-hour-of-run-time number with all inclusions listed side by side. A cheaper base price with three add-ons attached is frequently the more expensive booking. Then look at two things that do not appear on any quote: how quickly they responded to you, and what their reviews say about reliability.

The most expensive photo booth is the one that shows up late, or does not show up at all. Weigh reliability accordingly.

Where the value sits

Relative to a DJ, a band, or a venue upgrade, a photo booth is a small slice of an event budget that touches nearly every guest. If you are trimming, trim elsewhere first. And if you are choosing between more booth hours or a premium add-on, more hours almost always wins.
